Established by the Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation and sponsored by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited in 2022, the BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize aims to entice scientific researchers to work in Hong Kong while also cultivating forward-looking scientists. Its judging panel evaluates candidates on scientific research conducted here; transformation of this work to benefit society or economic value; compliance with prize charter when making its decisions.
The prize is open to anyone living in Southeast Asia, mainland China or anywhere else around the world, and features three rounds of selection – first for Southeast Asian residents, then mainland Chinese applicants and finally international ones. Winners will receive a flight ticket to Hong Kong as well as access to its world-class research facilities.
Participants aspiring to win the Hongkong Prize must submit a written report covering any historical topic of their choosing and its relationship to Hong Kong’s history. Their report should demonstrate a thorough investigation of collected materials and provide objective analyses with proper citation of sources used. No more than 3,000 words should be included.
