The Hongkong Prize is one of the region’s premier awards, drawing thousands of applicants every year. Recognizing outstanding researchers for their outstanding research with particular attention paid to its impact on society and an incentive for young people aspiring to become scientists themselves, it provides an incredible incentive to pursue a scientific path.
Winners of this award are chosen by an expert panel of judges and public vote, receiving cash prizes, engraved medals, and school grants for themselves and their schools. To apply, applicants must be Fellows of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine and have published work in a peer-reviewed journal in any specialty of medicine – prospective or retrospective clinical studies, observational studies, epidemiological research studies, basic science research papers or meta-analyses are eligible; case reports with three cases or reviews do not qualify; only first authors of papers submitted will be considered for this prize.
