This year’s prize went to a team from the National University of Singapore that had developed a new technique for visualising human poses from video and photo data, allowing computers to reconstruct bodies to gain a better understanding of movement and gesture. This technology could potentially have applications in robotics as well as healthcare.
SG Breakthrough Prize: S$500,000 in Seed Funding and Other Rewards
In its second year, the Government of Singapore and NTUC Income have presented the SG Breakthrough Prize as an incentive for young entrepreneurs to innovate within healthcare, education, or social enterprise fields. It serves as a global multi-disciplinary innovation competition with entries coming from all corners of the world.
