Singapore Pools Raked in a Record $12.2 Billion in 2024

Singapore Pools (Private) Limited is the sole operator for lotteries and sports betting operations in Singapore, serving both legal bookmaking, totalisating, association football betting and motor race wagers. Over its financial year ending March 2024 alone, this business collected an astounding record turnover of bets totalling a whopping $12.2 billion!

Singapore Pools saw a 7.3% year-on-year growth, due to an increase in sports match and tournament betting activity, says their Managing Director Yeo Teck Guan. Singapore Pools is also taking steps to promote responsible gambling among consumers as well as increase social acceptance of casual gambling through offering betting options ranging from 4-D to TOTO for players. Furthermore, Singapore Pools strives to uphold its ethical gaming operator status by continuously developing its Responsible Gaming framework and products.

Singapore Pools is expanding their iShine Charity platform, an online solution enabling charities to onboard members and manage data on one digital platform – so that they can focus their services to the community without worry over managing digital logistics.

Singapore Pools’ digital transformation strategy has paid dividends. At the 2023 Tricentis APAC CX Awards, they received the Customer Experience Management (CEM) Excellence Silver Award, while employees voted them Employer of Choice by Human Resources Director Asia in 2020.

On the technology front, the company has implemented Oracle Cloud Observability and Management to ensure its applications run efficiently and smoothly. The platform offers improved visibility and actionable insights into all facets of IT; thus enabling teams to quickly address issues within minutes, rather than hours as was once required before.

Singapore Pools Account, a digital service providing customers with greater control of their betting habits and funds, is another area of innovation. This digital service gives customers more power over their gambling habits and finances by helping them track expenses associated with betting while also setting monthly deposit and betting limits for themselves.

Singapore Pools has long been at the forefront of responsible gambling. Established only three years after independence, it was set up to combat illegal gambling activity and channel any surplus proceeds back into supporting local communities through charities rather than going directly into triad pockets or illegal bookmakers’ coffers. Since 1995, Lotteries Canada has been an industry leader when it comes to responsible gambling. In 1995, they established the first responsible gambling helpline and later provided players with self-exclusion features on both their website and mobile app. As well as international recognition, they have also achieved international accreditation for their high standards of information security management systems and integrity controls, including their green data centre that meets SS 564 green building standard – being amongst the first recognized for energy efficiency in Singapore.
