Domino is a strategy and skill game in which the player lines up dominoes edge-to-edge against one another with some numbered sides facing toward one another and others blank. Pushing each domino converts potential energy to kinetic energy when it hits against an adjacent domino, sending some of that momentum along to its next neighbor until all dominoes have fallen in an endless chain reaction that ends only when all dominoes have collapsed – this activity can often be found among children though classroom teachers use domino as an illustration of simple chain reactions having far-reaching consequences.
Dominoes are rectangular tiles typically two times as long as they are wide, which feature a line or ridge running along their center to visually divide into two squares. Each of these squares are marked by spots called pips which can range anywhere from six (for more expensive dominoes) to none (blank) depending on which type is being used; these pips indicate its rank or value – typically, more pips is associated with more weight in general.
Modern dominoes are typically constructed from plastic or bakelite; in the past however, sets were often constructed out of natural materials like bone, silver-lipped oyster shells (mother of pearl), ivory and dark hardwood such as ebony. A number of wooden sets remain today – their intricate craftsmanship, unique aesthetic and unique qualities making them attractive collectibles for many collectors.
Modern domino sets often boast more high-quality woods than their wooden predecessors and can be quite costly, such as hickory, maple and oak; exotic types include zebrawood and mahogany; some designs even combine these materials for an eye-catching appearance.
As a mercenary, Domino is an invaluable addition to Cable’s Wild Pack, Six Pack, X-Force and X-Men teams due to her probability-altering powers and combat training. Her psionic link allows them to communicate over distances via telepathy; her former Six Pack teammates Grizzly and Hammer often join her on missions together – helping secure Utopia during an overlap with Reality-295 or engaging in battle against high-profile foes like Stryfe or Mister Sinister respectively.
Domino’s core values stress listening to employees and customers – something cultivated by its founder Brandon and carried forward by Doyle. Doyle conducts surveys regularly to obtain customer feedback, which has led Domino to institute changes such as more relaxed dress codes and new leadership-training programs. Their dedication has been recognized through Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces surveys as well as various awards. Furthermore, Domino has expanded its print and digital offerings via successful books, furniture collaborations, Design Time podcast interviews with celebrities such as Ayesha Curry, Bobby Berk and Justina Blakeney among others.
